Assessment arrangements

Achieving the Award

To achieve the Award you need to complete and achieve all four units. You will be supported to build a portfolio of your work.

This is an accredited programme approved by the Scottish Qualifications Authority which means you are working towards a qualification which will be nationally recognised.  As well as credit points, you will have developed many useful skills, for further learning, volunteering and employment.

How will I be assessed?

The Lead Scotland staff member who takes you through the learning programme will also assess you.  You may also have some of your work assessed by other members of Lead's staff team.  This will be explained to you in advance.

Assessment will be ongoing during the learning programme and there are no exams.  You will be building a portfolio with lots of bits and pieces of your work.

You will be assessed in different ways. You may be using photos, videos, diaries, and being observed whilst you are learning.  All of this will be explained in advance so that there are no surprises!

Lead Scotland staff will deliver the learning programme and they will assess your work.  Some staff members of Arc Scotland staff will check to make sure that everyone's work is reaching the national standard.

Talk to us if  you have any more questions about the assessment arrangements.
