Getting Digital

Getting Digital is a 10 to 12 week introductory course to gaining digital skills for everyday life (1.5 hour a week).  "It's scary at first, but give it a chance, it will make your world bigger" (Lead Scotland North Lanarkshire learner).
 
We are currently delivering this programme in North Lanarkshire, supported by North Lanarkshire Council and in Highland, via SCVO's Digital Participation Challenge Fund.  Contact Lead, enquiries@lead.org.uk, 0131 228 9441 for more information.

By the end of the course learners will have had the opportunity to:

  • learn about computer jargon
  • use a computer, keyboard and mouse
  • adapt the computer to suit different needs
  • use the internet
  • learn about staying safe online
  • communicate online by email and by video, e.g. skype or google hangout
  • set up and use an email address
  • attach a document and photo to an email
  • learn about Facebook or be introduced to online shopping
